Topic: Timer Code for Virtual Console

Here is something for speed runners that have wanted to do speed runs, but don't have a (good) USB Controller or suck with a keyboard (including me tongue). Or maybe you don't have a Nintendo 64 with a Gameshark.

So here it is; a Timer Code for the NTSC Version of SM64 Virtual Console!

NAAE01
Super Mario 64 (US)

Time how long it takes to get a star V1.1 (JS) [Converted by mdmwii]
050B3808 A03BB25E
050B7DFC A1A000EE
010B5317 00000040
050B3810 00000000
291A5120 00006010
031A53EC 00000000

Reset key: L + R + B on gamecube controller

Gamecube controller D-Pad values:
Down - 0400
Up - 0800
Left - 0200
Right - 0100

Replace 6010 with one of the above to change the reset timer button(s).

I think this belongs under SM64 hacking. Johannes can change it, if not.

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

same way. You just use gecko.
Just like Brawls NTSC game ID is RSBE, the NTSC one for Mario 64 is NAAE
*edit*
Technically NAAE01 for code manager

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

When i presss launch game it launches the wii one. I don't see where you change that setting to launch a vc one.

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

You'll need the latest version of Gecko OS, there's an option "Lunch Channel"

Sonicpacker : I'm going to import Conor's crotch into Toad's Tool
SilentSlayers : I don't think there's enough memory...

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

i just updated to gecko 1.9.3 and still don't have the choice to launch a channel.:(

Thumbs up

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

You could always try a lower version. I believe channel loading was introduced in Gecko 1.9...?
(I'm probably wrong)

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

It still doesn't work now i get "error getting channel list"

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

I'm SURE that 1.9.2 have it, I didn't tested 1.9.3 thought.
If this still not work, that's just odd.

It said that for me when I first tried. I found a solution but that was a long time ago. I will try to find it again.

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

Found it.

"Some people have reported getting the message “Error Getting Channel List”; to clarify, the reason you are getting that message is because you need to downgrade IOS36 (it has nothing to do with the Wii menu version)."

*edit*
Sorry for the double post.  hmm

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

i'm still struggling to boot the virtual console with gecko. i have the version that has the "launch channel" option, but like the other guy i'm getting an error reading channel list. i tried dop-ios and it didn't work. jeremiah, i tried the link you used, but i couldn't figure out how to use it on my wii. any tips on this? i'm still a bit unsure about how all this stuff works, i didn't have the homebrew channel until today, and am still learning.
thanks

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

You need a old version of IOS36, the v1042, you can get it with Dop-Mii

Re: Timer Code for Virtual Console

I know that this topic is old by like 1 year, but I have a question, does anyone know how to convert N64 codes from yoshielectron's site to Wii SM64 USA code? If you know any site, how to do it, send me here plz.
