Topic: Can't get Kazio Mario 64 to work properly (Problem Solved!)

I figured out how to download the file and patch the ROM, but when I do patch the ROM, not all of the stuff from the hack is there. For instance, there are only a few chain chomps in Bob Omb Fortress, there is nothing added to Princess' Secret Slide, there are only two flamethrowers in the lobby. I don't really know what I am doing wrong because I don't see how only some of the stuff from the hack would patch to the ROM.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

EDIT: Okay, I needed to download the SM64 rom extender and extend the rom file for everything to successfully patch in. Thanks for telling me about that.

Patch correctly the .ppf file to a unmodified SM64 rom.
Browse in your hard drive and choose an extend SM64 rom (ISO file) and the patch in the right content.

Okay I am not very knowledgeable about file names or something because this is still not working right. I don't really know what an extend rom is. I can't find any SM64 iso files anywhere on my computer either. I know for sure I have the right patch for Kaizo Mario 64, but I think I am using the wrong kind of file for the SM64 rom.

I have a SM64.zip file,and I can extract SM64.ppf from that file, but I haven't seen any iso files for SM64. I used SM64.ppf as the SM64 rom I patched with Kaizo Mario 64, but what happens is only some of the stuff from the hack actually goes on to the rom. The instructions that came with it told me to make sure that the rom is extended, but I really have no idea what that means.

Have you the SM64 Rom Extender? It can be used to extended the original to a modified rom (useful in TT64).
When I wrote "ISO file", this doesn't mean to find any ISO, just a rom of Project64.
Have you check the file extensions? (v64, z64, n64)

The file I downloaded from the OmegaEdge29 comes with a program called called ppf-o-matic3.exe which is the program used to patch the SM64 rom with the hack. It also comes with Kazio Mario 64.ppf which is the patch that came with the same file, so that can't be the problem unless his file is messed up or something like that.

It also comes with instructions that say:

1. First, go into the Tools folder and open ppf-o-matic3.
2. Select the icon to the right of "ISO File".
3. Select your copy of Super Mario 64. Make sure that the rom is extended before continuing! (this is the part that I am unsure of; maybe I do need the SM64 rom extender)
4. Click the button directly below the previous one.
5. Go into the Kaizo Mario 64 folder, and select the patch.
6. Click apply and close out of the program when it finishes.
7. You're done! Go and play the patched game.

The SM64 rom I have comes in a SM64.zip folder, and when I extract it, it becomes a Super Mario 64.z64 file. I patched this file with the KM64 hack that it came with using the program that the creator provided, but like I said, only some of the stuff actually patches in.

If I do need the SM64 rom extender, am I allowed to ask where to download it?

Hmm, if I remember right, then Kazio is another adventure N64 game right? ALLRIGHT where can I download Kazio Mario 64?  big_smile

Google "OmegaEdge29" then go to his channel. Kaizo Mario 64 is a ridiciulous-hardly SM64 hack made by him.
